Tallahassee Parents,

Do you have a challenge getting your child to eat breakfast? The old saying, “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day,” is not necessarily true, however you do not want your child starting their day with an empty stomach.

Will They Drink Breakfast?

Your child might not be hungry enough to eat breakfast, but maybe they will drink it. A morning smoothy with the right nutrients can be a great way to start the day. It digests fast, can be drunk through a straw and might be the solution.

I don’t have Time to Cook In the Morning?

Morning breakfast doesn’t have to look like a Village Inn feast. Oatmeal with fresh fruit, pre-made breakfast egg cups are just a few ideas to offer your kids a healthy breakfast in the morning. A little preplanning and your mornings will be a little easier!

My Child is Often Hungry Soon After Breakfast

What you feed your kids for breakfast is important. If you give them too much sugar or simple carbs like most box cereals, they will most likely burn off the food rather quickly. Balancing their breakfast with the right amount of protein and good fats is important. Not only will this fill them up, but give them slow released energy for hours.

Do a little research and plan your menu with your kids over the weekend, and you will see a big difference in your child’s mood and yours. When things flow better, everyone is a little happier and that is a great way to start the day!
